Scope of the Project
Renovation of County Buildings to form Heritage Visitor Centre Ventrolla Scotland were appointed by the project architects in consultation with Historic Scotland to carry out on site renovation and upgrading of case and sash window.
Although the original windows were being renovated, many of the sashes were beyond repair. Sashworks Ltd manufactured various replacement sashes and timber profiles to match the originals in all details.
Glazing specified was “Drawn” glass for this heritage building to avoid the use of unsuitable modern float glass.
By renovating and repairing the windows, as much as possible of the historic fabric of the building was preserved.
The windows and components that were re placed were an exact copy of the originals so that the appearance and character of the building remained unchanged.
