Double Glazed Conservation Windows

"Balancing traditional appearance with modern technical performance and comfort"

For many years, attempts have been made to produce double glazed sash windows that look like the originals - especially the multi pane versions.

These attempts have failed - either the glazing bars have been too thick and spoil the appearance of the window or compromises have been made that affect the durability of the double glazed units.

Several years of research and development have resulted in the Sashworks solution - only on close examination does it become obvious that these units are, in fact, double glazed. Some of the projects where sash windows have been double glazed are reviewed in Case Studies

The work of developing the "Conservation Window" has been officially recognised with the granting of the prestigious John Logie Baird award for innovative product development.

The windows have found favour with Architects, Planners and Conservation Officers as they have been approved for use in some categories of Listed Buildings and Conservation areas. Further recognition has come from the Reporter to the Scottish Executive who said these windows "are the most satisfactory that I have encountered"
